CSDM Overview, Snapshot & Lens

CSDM tools turn CSDM 5 guidance into practical instance navigation and record-level checks.

Open it

• Run /csdm on a record to open CSDM Lens.
• Run /csdm elsewhere to open CSDM Overview.
• From a form’s table-name menu, select Show CSDM Snapshot for inline context.

CSDM Overview

The Overview shows an indicative instance pulse, live count badges, and direct links to important CSDM tables. Switch to Interactive map to explore the conceptual model:

• Single-click a concept for its explanation, table, and visible count.
• Double-click a concept to open its ServiceNow table list.
• Select a domain to highlight that area of the model.

CSDM Lens

The Lens identifies the current record’s CSDM entity, domain, and adoption stage. It checks useful ownership, life-cycle, classification, and CMDB relationship evidence, and provides a copyable summary.

Use Open overview to move between the record assessment and the wider instance view.

Data handling

The tools use the signed-in ServiceNow user’s existing session and permissions. They are read-only, install nothing in the instance, and do not send record data to SN Utils servers.
