Context Menu

Quick actions available through the SN Utils right-click context menu for searches and common operations.

The context menu (right-click menu) is an often overlooked but handy feature. It provides quick access to functions and searches based on your current context.

The menu items are context-aware - if you haven't selected text, items like Search and Code snippets won't appear.

Search / GoTo

When you have text selected, you'll see options like:

  • Instance Search - Search the current instance
  • Code Search - Search code across the instance
  • Go to Table - Navigate directly to a table list

Tools

Popular functions including:

  • Toggle Technical Names - Show/hide field and table names
  • Cancel Transactions - Stop running transactions
  • Other utility commands

Code / Work Note Snippets

When you're in a text field or code editor, you'll see starter snippets for:

  • Code snippets - Common script patterns
  • Work note snippets - Templates for work notes

Note: These may not be accessible when a ServiceNow context menu is active.
